Overview
- Our South Florida Automobile Dealers Association (SFADA) originally was formed to share marketing opportunities and control costs. Today, the Association owns and operates tag agencies that offer daily service for dealers in Florida. Profits from the tag agencies are used to promote dealer members. The SFADA tag agencies provide all aspects of the title and registration process to dealers throughout the state of Florida.
- The Association’s Dealers Link newsletter updates members on auto-related activities, community events, legislative matters, auto show highlights and links to other issues that support member dealerships and their ability to prosper.
- The legislative committee anticipates, tracks and impacts governmental activity at local, state and national levels on matters important to the automotive industry. SFADA’s Political Action Committee (PAC) contributes appropriate financial aid to campaigns. The Association also retains a professional lobbyist to effectively inform appropriate individuals.
- Legal counsel is provided to advise and assist on important matters that affect all members. A firm of specialists in labor law is retained to assist members in related matters. Periodic, thorough personnel surveys assist in maintaining proper pay and benefit levels.
- The Association sponsors and produces the Miami International Auto Show, one of the nation’s most prestigious auto shows and the first major show of the season in one of the industry’s hottest aspirational markets, and the Fort Lauderdale International Auto Show, which has helped to raise more than $4 million for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County since its inception in 1991. These two auto shows showcase new vehicles during months that appeal to permanent residents, part-time residents and visitors and also help to build public support for other dealership activities. The Association’s dealer members also receive guest passes to both auto shows.
- Well-targeted and effective advertising and public relations campaigns are produced to increase auto show attendance. Major manufacturer exhibits, specifically produced for Class A shows such as the Miami International Auto Show, highlight the new models and generate customer excitement that further stimulates sales and good will.
- The paid admission at the two annual auto shows help your Association’s long and established reputation for active support of charities throughout South Florida. For more than 40 years, the Association has donated over $7 million to numerous charities that also include Joe DiMaggio Hospital, YMCA, Alzheimer’s Association Sheridan House, Museum of Art, American Cancer Society, Historic Society of Fort Lauderdale, and others.
- In addition to the marketing of the auto shows, the Association assists in dealer advertising to insure its compliance with applicable laws. When effective or otherwise necessary, your Association advertises in local media as a group of dealers for more market penetration and at a lower cost per impression.
- SFADA is proud to sponsor luncheons and often spotlights graduating classes of new automotive service personnel. It cultivates enthusiasm and self-confidence with certificates and awards to top students. Each year, the Association sponsors these top students in the National Automotive Technology Competition at the New York Auto Show.
- The SFADA sponsors annual events to promote networking and camaraderie among its members including a celebratory Holiday Gala and an opening night reception at the prestigious Miami International Auto Show.
